You win if your total points (stones on the board + captured stones) exceed your opponent's.
The board is shaped like a six-pointed star, with a total of 37 cells. The purple cell in the center is a special cell called the Core Point (CP).
You can only place a stone where it sandwiches at least one opponent stone. There are 6 possible sandwich directions. When you sandwich opponent stones, they flip to your color.
This is a special rule not found in Reversi. When you completely surround your opponent's stones with your own, you can remove them from the board. The number of captured stones is added to your points. Removed cells can be used to place stones again.
However, opponent stones that were already surrounded before your move cannot be captured by an unrelated move. Only a new surround completed by your current move can capture opponent stones.
The purple cell at the center of the board. The CP is a special cell that can be either color. When you use the CP to sandwich a stone, you must call "Black" or "White" right after placing the stone. The flip result depends on the color you call.
The game ends under any of the following conditions:
① All 37 cells are filled with stones
② Neither player has any valid moves
③ Ko (same position repeating) prevents the game from progressing
Stones on the board + Captured stones = Total Points
The player with more total points wins.
For Lv.5 and above, matches automatically become "Reverse Matches" to balance the first/second-player advantage. You play 2 games swapping colors, and the winner is decided by total score.
If you play multiple sets, the color alternates between sets (Set 1: Black→White, Set 2: White→Black, ...).

ReverStarGo is a 2-player board game played on a star-shaped board. It is a brand-new strategy game combining Reversi's "sandwich and flip" with Go's "surround and capture".
① Placing Stones
You can only place a stone where it sandwiches at least one opponent stone. If there is no valid move, your turn is passed.
② Flipping
All sandwiched opponent stones flip and become yours.
③ Capturing by Surrounding
When you completely surround opponent stones with your own, you capture them and the count is added to your points. Captured cells can be used for placing stones again.
However, unlike Go, you cannot use the board edge (walls) to surround stones. You must surround them entirely with your own stones.
④ Existing surrounds are protected
Opponent stones that were already surrounded before your move cannot be captured by an unrelated move. Only "a new surround completed by your current move" can capture opponent stones.
The CP is a special cell at the center of the board.
① Call required
When you make a move that uses the CP to sandwich stones, you must call "Black" or "White" right after placing the stone, before flipping.
② Treated as the called color
The game proceeds as if the stone on the CP were the called color.
③ Surrounding the CP
Like normal stones, completely surrounding the CP earns points. Surrounding only the CP also counts as a capture.
The game ends under any of the following conditions:
The player whose total of (stones on the board) + (captured stones) is greater wins.
If totals are tied, the player with more captured stones wins.
If both totals and captures are tied, the game is a draw.
A rule to prevent endless repetition of the same position.
① Basic Rule
You cannot play a move that returns the board to exactly the state one turn ago.
Furthermore, you cannot play a move that returns the board to any previously-seen state.
② Exception
Only when no other move is available, a move that repeats a previous position is allowed.
③ After-exception rule
Right after the exception is applied, the opponent also cannot play a move that repeats a previous position.
④ Game End
If both players can only play repeating moves, the game ends and the winner is decided by total points at that moment.
⑤ Board Display
● Yellow dot … Mark for valid placement (shown on any background)
● Orange background + white border … One CP call color is restricted by Ko. Placement is allowed, but only one color is callable.
● Red background + white border … Move blocked by Ko. Normally cannot be played.
● Red background + white border + yellow dot … Red is the only option (exception). Placement is allowed.
To balance the first/second-player advantage, Lv.5 and above matches automatically use the "Reverse Match" format.
① 2 games = 1 set
Round 1 and Round 2 are played against the same opponent with colors swapped.
② Winner decided by total score
The player with the higher total score from both rounds wins. Even if you lose Round 1, a big win in Round 2 can turn it around.
③ Colors alternate between sets
If multiple sets are played, the starting color alternates naturally between sets.
・Set 1: Black → White
・Set 2: White → Black
・Set 3: Black → White
(In normal matches too, this pattern continues unless you change the color manually.)
④ Applies to
All matches at Lv.5 and above (normal matches and Rank-Up Matches)
* Does not apply in 2-Player mode or tutorial
⚔ A special series of matches to unlock the next CPU level. Independent from Daily Challenge.
① When it appears
When you reach a specific rank, the right to challenge the next promotion rank is automatically granted.
* RM = Reverse Match
② Basic Rules
③ Failing Is OK
You can retry as many times as you want, even after failing. Keep challenging until you're satisfied.
Right after surrounding and capturing opponent stones, if the opponent immediately places back at the same spot, the board would repeat forever.
To prevent this, you cannot play a move that returns the board to exactly the state one turn ago.
After playing one move elsewhere, you may place again.
💡 How hint display works:
● Yellow dot = Valid placement (any background)
● Orange background + white border = CP call restricted (placement allowed)
● Red background + white border = Blocked by Ko (allowed only if yellow dot also appears)
It's ⚫Black's turn next.
